Seahawks 53-man roster prediction: Training camp edition

Seahawks special teams (3): Kicker Jason Myers, punter Michael Dickson, long snapper Tyler Ott
No drama at all on special teams. I didn’t include Travis Homer here even though he is one of the key pieces of the unit and is worthy of being a Pro Bowler at his position. Homer calls out the alignments and knows how to do fake or three.
As for the other spots, Dickson is among the best punters in the NFL and is extremely gifted at downing punts inside the opponent’s 20-yard line. With any luck, the defense will be much better in 2022 and make better use of the field position that Dickson gives them.
Myers had a dip in quality at kicker for the Seahawks in 2021 but is still very good. In fact, in the previous year when he wasn’t terrific (2017 with the Jaguars), he bounced back to become a Pro Bowler in 2018 with the Jets. He has mostly been good for Seattle so Myers will probably be very good again in 2022.
Long snappers are underrated and people only notice them when something goes wrong. Have you ever noticed Ott? No? That says a lot about his greatness.
Finally, Seattle made a bunch of coaching changes this offseason, especially defensively. But the offensive line might be a lot more efficient with new O-line coach Andy Dickerson (who knows how to coach offensive coordinator Shane Waldron’s zone blocking scheme).
The defense is under completely new direction with Clint Hurtt as defensive coordinator and assistant head coach Sean Desai helping direct him. Things could be very exciting for the Seahawks in 2022.
