Seahawks safeties (4): Jamal Adams, Quandre Diggs, Marquise Blair, Ryan Neal

Not only are the two presumed starters very good if near-healthy but the backups are not bad either. This unit, along with the interior of the defensive line, is one of the strengths of the defense in 2022. And that depth might be a must for most of the year because Adams seems to struggle with getting injured.

Plus, Adams is already dealing with a broken finger. He broke the middle finger on his left hand last week in practice and this was after having the finger fused this offseason in hopes of not making it as easy to break. Three days into training camp and the finger is damaged again. Not a great sign.

Diggs, though less universally respected, is the better of the two starters right now. He has 13 interceptions in 38 games for Seattle and has been a Pro Bowler the last two seasons. Seattle signed Diggs to a three-year extension this offseason so he will be in Seattle through 2024 probably. That is a good thing.

Neal has been a surprise the last couple of years when he replaces Adams as there isn’t a huge drop-off from Adams. He could be a starter on many teams. So could Blair if he can ever stay healthy.
