Seahawks cornerback Justin Coleman

I have Coleman on this list for one reason: I am seeing a lot of other sites making their 53-man roster predictions and not having Coleman on the list. This seems insane to me as he is a very good slot corner and Seattle has struggled at that position the last couple of seasons. Coleman could fix it and if he does, who is? We know Ugo Amadi can’t.

I am also hoping the plan is not to have Marquise Blair once again try to play nickelback. Blair is capable of doing that decently but is truly a safety and needs to get his reps on the back end. He can help attack the run and be a physical presence in receivers crossing the middle as a safety but not a slot corner.

Still, it all comes back to sites not thinking Coleman is going to be on the team. Many don’t even write a reason why he would be cut. I just don’t get it. So I would be surprised if Coleman isn’t on the 53-man roster when Week 1 is here in about a month.

Coleman was a very good slot corner for Seattle in 2017 and 2018 and then was an outside corner with the Lions and Dolphins. Coleman is OK on the outside but excellent on the inside and Seattle needs to keep him on the inside. But many think they won’t which would be a mistake.
