Injury woes to Seahawks running backs are worrisome

The running back position was supposed to be Seattle’s strength coming into the 2022 season, with the newly re-signed Rashaad Penny and the drafted second-rounder Kenneth Walker III forming a formidable running back duo. Fast-forward to Week 13, and already without Penny, who was lost to a leg injury, the Seahawks are praying that Ken Walker’s ankle injury he sustained on Week 13 was minor.

After MRI on Monday, revealed, an inflamed ankle for Walker, who was stated by Pete Carroll as an “unusual injury”, it is a wait-and-see whether or not Walker can play this weekend. Not only did Walker sustain an injury, but the Seahawks were already without running back Travis Homer (knee/illness) on this game, and also, to add insult to injury, back running back Dee Jay Dallas also sustained his own knee injury during this game.

Now, Seattle is scrambling to see which running back can play this week against the Panthers. The Seahawks cannot afford to lose Walker for an extended period of time as their running game helps Geno and the passing attack. Let us hope that Ken Walker can come back on the field healthy soon to help the Seahawks’ playoff push.
