Finally, Seahawks defense showed up

Throughout this season and to no one else’s surprise, the Seahawks’ defense had been the Achilles heel this year. Even when the team was winning during the middle part of the season, their defense kept getting shredded by their opponents putting extra pressure on the shoulder of quarterback Geno Smith.

Thank goodness, in a must-win against the Jets, the Seahawks were able to put together a much well-rounded defensive effort against a similar desperate team. Seattle’s defense was able to cost the Jets to turn the ball over, as the Seahawks were able to intercept two passes from Jets quarterback, Mike White. Not only did the Seahawks shut down rising star rookie wide receiver, Garrett Wilson to 3 catches for only 18 yards, but also the team did not allow any Jets running back to run over 50 yards in this game.

A breath of fresh air for the 12th as the Seahawks had been gutted through the ground by their opponents this season. This tremendous showing by their defense hopefully carries over to Week 18 against the Rams, and if lucky enough to make it, to the playoffs. A challenge, these Seahawks defenders are more than willing to take upon.
