Seahawks CFP Championship targets: Numbers 15 and 14

No. 15- Stetson Bennett, QB UGA

The walk-on legend leading his hometown team to the doorstep of a dynasty. It’s a tremendous story, but don’t forget that Bennett has been a really good quarterback for the past two seasons, and has out-dueled the likes of Bryce Young, Anthony Richardson, Will Levis, and CJ Stroud. His career record is an insane 36-4.

A Heisman finalist in 2022, Bennett threw for 3,800 yards and had 31 total touchdowns. He’ll go down as a college football legend but likely will not make a massive impact on the NFL field with his size and arm strength (5-11, 190lbs). He can be a serviceable backup that has the intangibles to be a huge benefit behind the scenes for game prep and looks to have a future career coaching.

No. 14- Dylan Horton, DE TCU

Horton is a name nobody was talking about for the NFL, and then he single-handedly demolished the best offensive line in college football in Michigan at the Fiesta Bowl. Horton, a transfer that has looked good as an LB, DE, and DT for TCU, recorded 6 tackles, 4 sacks, and a pass deflection in their victory.

Horton’s versatility is definitely intriguing for a team like Seattle that is playing mixtures of a 3-4 and 4-3 defense. At 6-4, 244 lbs, Horton could be a star special teamer while getting snaps at DE. Another big game against Georgia and Horton may have a championship as well as skyrocketing his draft stock.
