The Seahawks were definitely one of the surprises of the 2022 season. To build on that success, they’d be wise to look to these free agents on the offensive side of the ball. All three would add much-needed depth and consistency to the Hawks.

Geno Smith famously said, “They wrote me off, but I ain’t write back.” As all 12s know, Smith did his writing on the field as he authored one of the best quarterback seasons in Seahawks history. The quarterback may be the most important position, but football is almost certainly the ultimate team sport. One man cannot guarantee success.

It’s pretty obvious that Smith is a team player above all. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind a few new co-authors to help him write the next chapter in Seahawks’ history. While the offense looked great at times, they certainly still have some positions that could use an upgrade.

The Seahawks need to bring in new blood on the offense

It appears Seattle is set at offensive tackle of the next decade, but the recently re-signed Phil Haynes could use a new playmate. Likewise, you can never have too much talent at the so-called skill positions. I mean, try telling one of the Hawks’ O-linemen they have no skills.

Oh, before we move on to my nominations, I want to be clear I’m only looking at free agents from other teams here. So you won’t see Rashaad Penny, Poona Ford, or Marquise Goodwin listed here. Besides, I already wrote about how terrific Goodwin was in Seattle. Yes, bring them all back. Penny earned another shot with his spectacular finish to 2021. He was on track for another great season last year until what seemed like the inevitable injury. Still, I’d bring him back with an incentive-loaded contract. But we’re here to talk about the new guys, so, read on.
