3 positions Seahawks must improve via trade before the 2024 deadline
By Lee Vowell
The Seattle Seahawks are spiraling downward and have lost their last three games. The defense has especially been bad, and there appears to be no easy fix to the various issues. Still, Seattle likely needs to do something to try to improve the team.
Some positions have been worse than others in the losing streak. One was an issue in 2023 and is still an issue now. The team should be able to upgrade the position.
General manager John Schneider has been somewhat successful over the years in trade. He acquired Duane Brown, and he became a long-term - and good - starter at left tackle. Jadevon Clowney only stuck around for one season, but he was productive then. Schneider might need to pull off another trade to make the 2024 season better.

Right guard
Anthony Bradford simply is not good. According to Pro Football Focus (subscription required), Bradford is the fourth-worst-graded overall guard in the NFL this season. The players that rank below Bradford include a rookie, a left guard, and a player who is more of a swing offensive lineman who has played three games, and one of them was a left tackle.
Bradford was already terrible in terms of both run-blocking and pass protection entering Week 6 versus the San Francisco 49ers, but he decided to outdo himself. He allowed seven total pressures, including a sack. At least he didn't have a penalty for the third straight week, even though he is still among the leaders in the NFL among guards in that category.
Rookie Christian Haynes has graded slightly better, but he still hasn't shown to be so much better than Bradford that Haynes should definitely be the starter. Haynes did not allow a pressure against the 49ers, but the team only trusted him to be in on five pass-block snaps.
There are some players likely available via a trade that would be an upgrade over Bradford, though. Dillon Radunz is in his first year as a full-time right guard with the Tennessee Titans, but he is in the final year of his contract. He has allowed just nine total pressures in 168 pass-block snaps, and he has mostly been a good run-blocker in his career.
Another option could be the Carolina Panthers' Austin Corbett. He has only played center this season, but he was a full-time right guard in the four previous seasons. He only appeared in four games in 2023, but in 2022, he allowed only 15 total pressures in 541 pass-block snaps.
