The Seattle Seahawks might be one of the most overlooked defending Super Bowl champions in recent NFL history. However, while some might sleep on them, they have everything it takes to go the distance again in 2026.
Winning consecutive championships is a tall ask, especially for a team playing in one of the toughest divisions in football. That said, the Seahawks have a somewhat forgiving schedule, and they're a finely tuned machine in all three facets of the game.
Considering that, and knowing that the Seahawks will still make moves, lose guys to injury, and have some setbacks, let's talk about the four boldest predictions that could define Mike Macdonald's team's season.

The Seahawks will make a big trade
In the past month, the Seahawks signed both Trevon Diggs and Terrion Arnold. If that's not a sign of how they feel about their cornerback depth, then what is it? Diggs is on the practice squad, and there's no timetable for Arnold's debut, so another move could be in store.
The Seahawks were also tied to Maxx Crosby for the past couple of years. It's highly unlikely that they'll seriously consider that, but we've seen crazier things happen. Also, they might want to hit back at the Los Angeles Rams after their plethora of big moves. Crosby or not, this team will make a blockbuster trade at one point.
Sam Darnold will throw less than 10 interceptions
Most casual fans and critics argue that Sam Darnold's ball security and decision-making will hold this team back. They said the same thing last season, and we all saw how that turned out. This year, however, Darnold won't feed the trolls as often.
Darnold threw 14 picks last season, but that included a four-interception performance. He actually took much better care of the football after that game, throwing just four interceptions in the next 10 games (playoffs included). Even with a new offensive coordinator, he should be more comfortable in the offense with another year with his supporting cast.
Jadarian Price will be OROY
Jadarian Price might not have been the first running back off the board, but unlike fellow Notre Dame star Jeremiyah Love, he's healthy. Also, with an underwhelming rookie quarterback class, the table is set for Price to run away with Offensive Rookie of the Year honors, both literally and figuratively.
While the Seahawks didn't want to put Price on tape and tip their hand to the rest of the league, reports coming out of training camp hint at a huge role for the speedy rookie. He'll be the team's workhorse back, and with Brian Fleury looking to take pressure off Darnold's shoulders, he could be looking at much more than 1,000 rushing yards and double-digit scores.
They'll sweep the Rams
This might be the boldest prediction of all, but we stand by it. The Seattle Seahawks will sweep the Los Angeles Rams, clinching the No. 1 seed and a first-round bye in a primetime season finale in Week 17.
The Seahawks have plenty of real estate in the Rams' heads. They've made it personal, and as much as they have the personnel to pull it off, all the pressure is on them. The Seahawks have been there and done that, and they know what it takes to get over the hump. The Rams want to play in the Super Bowl they're hosting, but they might not be able to handle the heat.
