Anthony Bradford goes out in first quarter but Seahawks offensive line still awful

The Seahawks offensive line has been terrible so far in Week 12.

The Seahawks lost right guard Anthony Bradford in their first series versus the Cardinals. I can't say that made the offensive line worse as they were already awful in every way.

It won't come as a shock to any of the 12s, but let me just verify for you that the Seahawks offensive line is terrible. They've allowed three sacks and committed two penalties in their first four series. Anthony Bradford has never been the best O-lineman for Seattle, but it doesn't help their cause that he was knocked out of the game so early.

Normally you'd be happy to see a player as bad as Bradford taken out of the lineup. But when you consider that his replacement, Christian Haynes, hasn't been trusted to start in his place after the first 10 games. I'll give him credit - at least so far, he hasn't stepped on Geno Smith's foot.

Seahawks offensive line needs to step up without Anthony Bradford

Yeah, that sounds like a joke, I know. The Hawks' second-year player is ranked 71st in the league among all guards by Pro Football Focus (subscription required). If you aren't too mathy, there are 32 teams in the NFL. With two starting guards on each team, that means one average, every single team has two guards better than Bradford.

For context, the Steelers James Daniels has the highest grade in the NFL at 92.9. Bradford grades out at barely that with 50.1 At 46.3, Haynes grades out even lower. As we've discussed ad infintum, this has been the Achilles heel of the Seahawks for... what, a dozen years?

The Hawks finally made a big play, but Geno Smith has had to make everything happen with his awareness and nimble feet. If the Hawks had Jared Goff or Matthew Stafford taking snaps, We'd have seen at least six sacks already today. Haynes hasn't been any better than Bradford so far. In fact, he may have been even worse.

If the Hawks are going to pull off this win, it's going to be up to Geno Smith to make things happen despite his offensive line's terrible play. And he just did - but you can read more about that elsewhere.
