The Seattle Seahawks need an edge rusher. Why shouldn't the team trade for disgruntled edge rusher Micah Parsons of the Dallas Cowboys? He wants out, and general manager John Schneider should try to make a move to give him a new home.
The worst could happen as well, though. The worst not being that Parsons stays with the Cowboys because, ultimately, that's boring. He's already been with that team, been great, and could easily stay and be part of a Cowboys team that eventually falls short of expectations.
This has happened for the last 30 years. It is a Dallas Cowboys tradition.
Seattle Seahawks might not trade for Cowboys' Micah Parsons but a hated NFC West rival could
It isn't a Los Angeles Rams or San Francisco 49ers tradition, sadly. The 49ers have made a couple of recent Super Bowls, while the Rams have won one. The Arizona Cardinals also play in the NFC West, but meh. If a Cardinals player scores in the Arizona desert, are there any Cardinals fans to hear it? No.
Seattle definitely could use Micah Parsons. The Seahawks have a solid group of edge rushers if all are healthy, but not all are healthy. Uchenna Nwosu seems set to miss the first part of the 2025 season after having offseason knee surgery, for instance. 33-year-old free agent signee DeMarcus Lawrence missed 13 games last season for Parsons' Dallas Cowboys.
John Schneider might like to have Parsons, but might not like to pay the amount he will want in free agency next offseason. $40 million a season? Maybe. Seattle won't do that.

The Rams and 49ers? Maybe.
This is especially true of the Rams. The 49ers aren't in very good cap space for the next couple of seasons compared to much of the league. They also have to decide whether to keep some of their stars for the next few years. While the 49ers lost defensive talent this offseason, they probably can't afford Parsons in the future.
The Rams can. And dang it, if Los Angeles isn't the biggest thorn in the Seattle Seahawks' side over the last decade. Los Angeles managed to turn its roster over from good old players to good young players, and adding Micah Parsons would be logical. LA also isn't afraid to use draft capital to do it.
If the Dallas Cowboys do trade Parsons, he is unlikely to end up with the Seattle Seahawks. He could end up with the Los Angeles Rams. That would be a nightmare.
