DeeJay Dallas never really got a chance to shine as a running back with the Seattle Seahawks. He was metronomic with his carries in his first three years in the Pacific Northwest, getting between 33 and 35 each season. By year four, he only got 10, and the writing was on the wall that he would leave.
With Seattle, Dallas was well-liked by fans for his quick smile and sense of humor, once mimicking his friend with the Seattle Kraken, Brandon Tanev, in his profile photo, showing big eyes as if he was alarmed. It was done in jest, and it was quite humorous.
But since he left the Seahawks after the 2023 season, Dallas has bounced around the league a bit. He recently signed with his fourth team in three years, and that just happens to be with a former Sam Darnold employer, the Minnesota Vikings, on their practice squad. Should Dallas make an impact, it will likely be in the third phase of the game.

After all, after several seasons of trying to find his footing in the NFL, Darnold became a good quarterback with Minnesota, and one year later became a Super Bowl-winning QB with the Seattle Seahawks. While Dallas isn't going to play quarterback, maybe he will prove his niche in the league in Minnesota.
He will have to be elevated to the active roster, of course, but he has put in enough time in the league that the Vikings should know what to expect. Dallas isn't going to get many rushes, but he could be a real threat in terms of kickoff returns.
In his career, he has averaged 25.3 yards per kick return and scored a touchdown in 2024 with the Arizona Cardinals. That same season, he averaged 30.6 yards per return. In 2023 with the Seahawks, he averaged 25.9 yards per return, a solid number.
He was also a good punt returner for Seattle in that same season, averaging 10.6 yards per return, but he hasn't gotten another chance to do that since. If the Vikings need a returner, they have one who recently signed to the practice squad.
As for the Seattle Seahawks, the team has no need in that area. Rashid Shaheed is one of the best in the league and proved after being traded to Seattle in the middle of the 2025 season that he can change the outcomes of seasons. He isn't going anywhere.
Many 12s might hope that Dallas does well with the Vikings. As long as he doesn't succeed against Seattle, he could be great if he ever gets elevated to a regular season game, that is.
