Former Seahawks Shaquem and Shaquill Griffin prove they deserve one job

Do you remember where you were when the Seattle Seahawks drafted Shaquem Griffin in the fifth round in the 2018 NFL draft? There are fewer feel-good moments in recent Seattle football history than the choosing of Griffin. This came a year after the team had chosen Shaquem's twin brother, Shaquill.

Shaquill became an immediate starter at cornerback. Shaquem played for two years with Seattle and was mostly a special teams contributor (and a good one). The difference between the twins was that Shaquem always had to play with a handicap as he was missing his left hand due to complications from a childhood illness.

Both were talented players, though the NFL can be a tough business and a player having only one hand is certainly going to slow his progress. Still, what will always make Shaquem and Shaquill special is their playful interactions with each other, their effervescence as individuals, and their consistent positivity.

Former Seahawks Shaquem and Shaquill Griffin deserve their own podcast

The world needs more of that. On a recent episode of the Stacking the Box podcast, the brothers did not say a single word about the Seattle Seahawks, and the viewing of their part of the show would still make for must-see entertainment for 12s. The pair deserve their own podcast, and it would at least be equally as good as the Kelce brothers' New Heights podcast.

The banter between the two is addictive. (Heck, even Shaquem talking about Bounty paper towels is great entertainment.) Shaquill confessed that Shaquem was the better speaker, while Shaquem admitted, somewhat reluctantly, that Shaquill was faster. But the brothers also have a sneaky sarcastic streak that many fans might find hilarious.

When speaking about a victory parade the University of Central Florida, whoich both Griffins played for in college, held at Walt Disney World to honor the 2017's "national championship," Shaquill made a confession that Shaquem was not part of the parade. Shaquill was. Shaquill had just spent his rookie season with the Seahawks, while Shaquem played on the UCF team. Shaquem had to prepare for the NFL combine, though, so Shaquill snuck onto a stage in his brother's absence.

Shaquill said, "I did take the parade, though...by the time for (Shaquem) to leave for training for the combine, so I stood in in his place...So when we had our big parade, I went out on the stage and waved to the fans."

Shaquem quickly responded, "No one knows this, and now you are just telling everybody...There were kids out there that are now a little older and (they) thought it was me."

What is undoubtedly true is that the brothers care for one another, and that comes across to the viewer as well. People need them to have a podcast because it would be entirely joyful. Almost as enjoyable as the time Shaquem and Shaquill Griffin teamed up to sack Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the 2019 playoffs.
