The Seattle Seahawks entered the 2026 Draft with their 32nd-overall pick up for sale, but they ultimately stayed put and selected running back Jadarian Price. The talented running back was the second rusher selected in the first round, with only his teammate Jeremiyah Love going before him to the Arizona Cardinals.
While Love went 29 spots before his former teammate, Price has bragging rights in the sense that he joined the reigning Super Bowl champs. He’s also exactly what the Seahawks needed as they look to repeat in 2026. Seattle lost Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III to the Kansas City Chiefs in free agency, but the team has quickly replaced him with Price, as the explosive offense will continue to be built around a productive run game.
Jadarian Price has the chance to be the leader of that run game.
Seahawks select Jadarian Price with 32nd-overall pick
Price shared a backfield with a running back who was just selected third overall. Still, he did enough to make himself a first-round running back and the second running back off the board — that speaks to how promising his future is.
That production that made that possible came in three seasons at Notre Dame, Price played in 41 games, carrying the ball 280 times for 1,692 yards and 21 touchdowns. He also added 15 receptions for 162 yards and three touchdowns. That’s clearly an area where his game can significantly grow. Price was also a productive returner in college, returning 22 kicks for 794 yards and three touchdowns. He could help compliment Rashid Shaheed in the kick return game.
With former offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak now coaching the Las Vegas Raiders, there is some curiosity about what Seattle’s offense will look like in 2026. While that answer remains to be seen, it’s clear running the ball will still be a priority — a team doesn’t select a running back in the first round if that’s not the case.
Of course, the Seahawks will also throw the ball around as well, and Price is excited about that. During the pre-draft process, the running back mentioned Seattle as an exciting potential landing spot, because of how balanced and productive the offense is. Well, the running back got his wish and he will now contribute to the exciting offense.
