NFL analyst predicts a brutal losing streak for the Seahawks

But wait, there's a positive.

The Seattle Seahawks, like most good teams, are built to sustain losing streaks. Sure, Seattle and every other team are going to lose a game or three, but losing three in a row? Unlikely. That is what keeps squads like the Seahawks in the title hunt.

Yet, NFL analyst Tom Blair of the league's official website has Seattle losing not a couple in a row near the beginning of the 2026 season, but four straight. The losses will come against the San Francisco 49ers, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, and Chicago Bears.

Those are all good teams, of course, but there are issues with such a prediction. First, head coach Mike Macdonald seems to have figured out Kyle Shanahan's San Francisco 49ers offseason, so San Fran beating Seattle is iffy. (Blair actually has the Seahawks losing twice to the 49ers next season.)

One NFL analyst has the Seattle Seahawks losing four-straight games in 2026

Another problem is that three of those games come at Lumen Field. Macdonald appears to have gotten his team back to controlling its home field, so losing three out of four games in Seattle appears unlikely.

Blair could be right, of course. There is very little science to making guesses. The analyst could also be wrong on all four occasions. But before we get too upset at his projections, there is a caveat that will make 12s happier.

Despite losing four in a row, Blair believes the Seahawks will only lose one more game the rest of the season (the other San Francisco contest), finish 12-5, win the NFC West, and be the No. 1 seed in the NFC, just as Seattle was last season on their way to winning the Super Bowl. That would be quite the turnaround from the 4-4 start that Blair is predicting.

Tom Blair created the prediction article with Ali Bhanpuri, who doesn't have the Seattle Seahawks losing four-straight games, but has the team finishing with a worse overall record of 11-6, still making the postseason, but as the No. 5 seed. In the same skid that Blair has for Seattle, Bhanpuri has Macdonald's team going 1-3. Let's hope they are both wrong.

As for the Seahawks' NFC West rivals, both have the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers making the playoffs, but San Fran as the No. 6 seed. Bhanpuri has the Rams being the No. 1 seed in the conference. Each has the Arizona Cardinals finishing 3-14, just like last season. In fact, the whole thing sounds like last year, so maybe Seattle will win the Super Bowl again.
