The Seattle Seahawks played the Los Angeles Rams to a tie in 2024. Both teams went 10-7, and those were the best records in the NFC West. The unfortunate bit was that the Rams held all the tie-breakers and got into the postseason, while all Seattle could do was go on vacation.
One of the key Rams is now with the Seahawks, though. Wide receiver Cooper Kupp was released this offseason and signed with his home-state team. Seattle had released fan-favorite Tyler Lockett and traded DK Metcalf, and needed to find some veteran help for WR1 Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Kupp fits that definition.
The question about the receiver is not how talented he is but how healthy he will remain. Kupp has missed at least five games in each of the last three seasons. He is past 30 years old, so expecting him to suddenly be available for every game seems foolish. He will likely want to be able to play against the Rams, though.
Seahawks' Cooper Kupp finds out when he can take revenge on the Rams in rumored leak
Even after he was released, Kupp had questions for Los Angeles. He has said the Rams did not provide much clarity on when he might be released or why the team was so ready to move on from him. He had spent his entire eight-year career with LA, and he should have felt he was owed better communication.
High-end athletes will use any inspiration to elevate their normal level of play. Kupp is good during any game, but if he tries to show the Rams what they are missing, he has two chances to do that in 2025. The Seahawks play each NFC West rival twice.
The official announcement of the full 2025 NFL schedule will be released at 5 p.m. PT on May 14, but leaks have been coming through. Few have been related directly to Seattle, but one X/Twitter handle, Ozzy NFL, has released the complete Rams schedule. Of course, his information is only a rumor, but he seems to be a fairly valid source.
The Official Los Angeles Rams 2025 Schedule
— Ozzy (@OzzyNFL) May 14, 2025
W1: Texans at Rams (4:25)
W2: Rams at Titans
W3: Rams at Eagles
W4: Colts at Rams (4:05)
W5: Niners at Rams (TNF)
W6: Rams at Ravens
W7: Rams at Jaguars (London)
W8: Saints at Rams (4:05)
W9: BYE
W10: Rams at Niners (4:25)
W11: Seahawks…
According to Ozzy, the Seahawks will take on the Rams in Los Angeles in Week 11 and then again in Week 16 on Thursday Night Football in Seattle. The juicy part is that Seattle won't take on LA until the second half of the season, when both teams might be battling for the playoffs.
Perhaps Cooper Kupp will be extra motivated to play well against LA and help his current team make the postseason while making sure his former team doesn't. That should be the hope of Seahawks fans, of course.
