One overlooked factor gives Jadarian Price an edge over Jeremiyah Love

Seattle vs. Arizona. Is there any question?

There was no question that Jeremiyah Love was going to go as a top-five pick in this year's NFL Draft, just as there was no question he would be the first running back off the board. That's exactly how things unfolded. The Arizona Cardinals selected the former Notre Dame Fighting Irish rusher with the third overall draft pick.

The surprise came later in the draft when the Seattle Seahawks selected Love's college teammate of three years, Jadarian Price, with the 32nd overall pick. The Seahawks were speculated to go with a running back at some point in the draft, but it was a surprise when they chose that moment to be their first pick.

Price and Love are no longer teammates, but that doesn't mean they won't see each other often, considering they play in the same NFC West division. Price is expected to take on a significant role right away, and the Seahawks are hoping he can run with it as their starter. The question is: will Price or Love have the better season? Love is considered the better rusher, after all.

The Seattle Seahawks are why Jadarian Price will have the better season over Jeremiyah Love

It's not always about who's the better player, or who has more talent, or whose college career overshadowed the others. Sometimes, it simply comes down to where the player lands. Sam Darnold landed with the New York Jets, and now look at him. Darnold is a shining example, closest to home, of how Price's situation can be related to, the keyword being situation.

Love was on everyone's leaderboard as the best running back in the draft, and considering his college career, he deserved to be at the top of those lists. The only element that might force Love to have a slow start to his NFL career is the Cardinals, who are a lost team in the middle of a contract dispute with, well, Jacoby Brissett? Yes, yes, that's right.

Love could be great, and might very well be one day, but there is no comparing his situation with the Cardinals to Price's with the Seahawks, and that's precisely why Love's Fighting Irish backup will have the far better season. The Seahawks are simply a better-run organization, and they have a virtually complete team around Price.

Breaking it down a little further, the Seahawks have the type of offense that Price can thrive in. They're also set to return all their starting offensive lineman from a year ago. Not to mention, it's Darnold versus Brissett. Suffice it to say, Price is the winner as far as quarterbacks go. It may be another season or two before Love has his quarterback of the future.

Price is being given an open road to roam, and with his pass-catching abilities complementing his rush game, he's poised to have an Offensive Rookie of the Year-esque season. The Seahawks ran the ball heavily in the second half of the season last year and throughout the playoffs.

It's safe to assume that new offensive coordinator Brian Fleury isn't going to wait halfway through the season to ignite the running game.

Price should be involved in every set of downs from the get-go, on a team with an explosive offense, looking to repeat as Super Bowl champions. Price is, without question, in a better football situation than Love, and there should be no surprise if, by next season's end, Price's numbers outclass his former college teammate’s.
