When is the 2024 NFL Draft? All Seattle Seahawks fans need to know

The Seattle Seahawks will be on the clock in just about a week. 12s have grown quite fond of the NFL Draft, seeing the impact - both good and bad - that it has had on this franchise. This year, the NFL Draft will be taking place in Detroit, Michigan. After many years of being held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, the NFL decided to make more of a production out of the event and have it take place in different cities each year.

Most notably, in Las Vegas for the 2022 NFL Draft where the Seattle Seahawks built a new foundation for this franchise, selecting the likes of LT Charles Cross, HB Kenneth Walker, LB Boye Mafe, RT Abe Lucas, CB Tariq Woolen, and others who have impacted this team in a positive way. This past year, the NFL Draft was held in Kansas City, where the Seahawks piggybacked off the success in 2022.

Using the last of the extra picks received from the Russell Wilson trade, Seattle was able to round off their re-build with CB Devon Witherspoon and WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba in the first round. This year, although they do not have any additional picks in the early rounds, the hope is to build off the momentum established over the past two seasons.

What Seattle Seahawks need to know about the 2024 NFL draft

The NFL Draft spans over three days. Day 1 of the 2024 NFL Draft will take place on Thursday, April 25th starting at 8:00 P.M. EST. The first day consists of the first round only. On Thursday, the Seattle Seahawks will be selecting 16th overall. Speculation on what they are going to do is rampant, whether it's the position or player or potentially trading up or down. Nonetheless, the entire first round should be entertaining.

Day 2 of the 2024 NFL Draft will take place on Friday, April 26th starting at 8:00 P.M. EST. Night two consists of rounds two and three. After completing a mid-season trade with the Giants, Seattle does not own their second-round pick or third-round pick after the offseason acquisition of QB Sam Howell. However, a trade made in the draft last year with Denver gives the Seahawks the 81st overall pick. This will be the only selection of the night for them barring any trades.

Day 3 of the NFL Draft will take place on Saturday, April 27th starting at 12:00 P.M. EST. Day three consists of rounds four through seven. Believe it or not, this is the bread and butter of the draft. An opportunity to find a hidden gem. Due to the aforementioned Sam Howell trade, the Seahawks have two fourth-round picks (#102 via WAS & #118) and will cap off the draft with their sixth-rounder (#192) and seventh-rounder (#235).
