Predicting every national TV game for Seattle Seahawks this season

Seattle will likely end up with about three national TV games in 2024.

In 2023, the Seattle Seahawks were featured in three national TV games. These are different from prime-time games (Seattle was initially featured on three of those as well) as they aren't, well...shown in prime time but they are the game that most of the United States will see on a Sunday afternoon. In 2022, Seattle was part of two national TV games and one that was played on the NFL Network when Seattle played the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Germany).

I point out the above because the trend is for Seattle to be featured on three national TV games again in 2024. This could change during the season should the Seahawks reach a high level of success and, therefore, more national interest. If it does change, though, it won't change much.

Seattle has gone 9-8 in each of the last two seasons and many betting sites think the over-under for Seattle's win total this coming season will be 7.5. So an 8-9 record would not shock many. Of course, new head coach Mike Macdonald might be able to correct the defense enough that the Seahawks surprise a number of people and win 10 games or more.

How many national TV games will the Seattle Seahawks play in 2024?

Based on how many national TV games Seattle has had in the last two years, we are going to guess they have three in 2024 as well. The NFL schedule could be released this week (likely Thursday) and 12s will know for sure then when the Seahawks play, of course. But why wait? Let's see how wrong we can be with when Seattle should play to a national audience this coming season.

Seahawks versus Los Angeles Rams

In 2023, both games against the Rams were on national TV. The safe guess is that one of the games will be in front of a national audience. Seattle versus LA has produced a number of good games over the last 10 years and now there is the new aspect of Sean McVay's offense versus Mike Macdonald's defense.

These two teams might be in a battle all season for second place in the NFC West (maybe first if the San Francisco 49ers suffer a few injuries) and a playoff spot. The last time these two played in 2023 was in Week 11. Hopefully, one of the games will be later in the season and could be for a playoff spot (that Seattle earns, of course).

Seahawks versus Bears in Chicago

This has more to do with Caleb Williams than anything else. The NFL is probably going to put Williams in front of as many faces as possible because if he works out as well as most pundits think then he is going to become one of the faces of the league for the next 10-15 seasons.

This would be an interesting matchup for 12s because former offensive coordinator Shane Waldron is now the OC for the Bears. New OC Ryan Grubb would likely love the opportunity to show Waldron what he can do with the Seahawks' offensive weapons that Waldron could not do. Seattle should still have the better overall roster but Chicago should be entertaining, at least.

Seahawks versus Green Bay Packers in Seattle

This could be a prime-time game as the NFL schedule makers probably still have fond memories of the "Fail Mary" game. Maybe magic can strike twice? Seahawks fans likely hope so.

Both the Packers and Seattle should be in playoff contention and Green Bay always draws well nationally. This should be a 1:25 pm PT game, however. If Seattle were expected to be a bit better then it might be in prime time.

Seattle will probably also get a couple of real prime-time games. My guess would be that one of those is against the 49ers and the other against the Buffalo Bills. At least everyone will know what the schedule looks like soon.
