Seahawks fans enraged at Browns lineman after learning of Uchenna Nwosu news
By Lee Vowell
Was the play dirty? That might depend on one's emotional leanings and one's observation of the play. What happened was Seattle Seahawks edge rusher Uchenna Nwosu closed in on Cleveland Browns quarterback Jameis Winston but Nwosu got hit low by Cleveland Browns offensive lineman Wyatt Teller and then got hit high by Cleveland's running back.
The play drew a flag for a chop block as it should have. Teller's lack of athleticism caused him to try to chase Nwosu but Nwosu was well past the pulling right guard. Teller hit Nwosu's left knee and slid down his leg. Was the play dirty or just bad football?
12s clearly have an idea. Seahawks fans not only want Teller to be suspended, but some want blood. Literally. Let's be real. This is just football. Nwosu getting hurt is bad for our favorite team, but Teller might simply have made a stupid play and not intentionally injured Nwosu.
Seattle Seahawks fans share their strong dislike of Wyatt Teller after Uchenna Nwosu news
That last part is key. What was Teller's intent? Surely, no NFL player, unless there is some hidden grudge, wants to hurt another player. The NFL is a business after all, and each player understands other players need to handle their business and try to make generational wealth. There is normally no personal malice.
That does not mean Teller is not at fault for Nwosu missing games. He is. The right guard has been in the league for six years and has made three straight Pro Bowls. He is not a bad player. He made a terrible play and another player got hurt.
Still, 12s want their pound of flesh and fans have that right. Seattle is a lesser team without Nwosu and Nwosu should still be playing if not for Teller's poor decision.
This is a pretty excellent tweet. Bringing up Gladiator in the right way is always a good thing.
"Hate" is a strong word. Unless you know someone who is horrible, that is. Still, the emotion is correct.
The use of the word "heinous" here is perfect. Mr. DOXX can pass go and collect his 200 dollars.
Should he be? Again, it goes back to intent. If we can prove Nwosu and Teller had a personal dislike then fine. That seems unlikely, though.
There are several other social media posts about Teller that do not contain family-friendly language. They are still funny, but we cannot post them here. You'll just have to check them out for yourself.
