Seahawks guaranteed to look good in Week 1 versus the Broncos

The throwback jerseys are back, 12s! The ultra-popular 1990s-style throwback royal blue and apple green uniforms will be worn by the Seattle Seahawks to begin the season when they take on the Denver Broncos at Lumen Field. The hope, however, is that Seattle does a bit better than the last time they wore the jerseys.
In 2023, Seattle wore the uniforms twice. In Week 8, Seattle defeated a PJ Walker-led Cleveland Browns team 24-20. In Week 13, though, Seattle wore the uniforms again and lost to the Dallas Cowboys 41-35. To be fair, that loss might have had more to do with the Seahawks' bad defense than the jerseys they were wearing.
The key is that while the throwbacks look amazing, the team doesn't want to start going down the road if they lose every time they wear them. Plus, beating a Broncos team that likely is not very good in Week 1 is a must no matter what Seattle is wearing. To lose to Denver might only start a jinx of the greatness that is the throwbacks.
Seattle Seahawks announce they will wear throwbacks jerseys in Week 1 against the Denver Broncos
The Seahawks already plan to wear the jerseys at least one more time in 2024. That game is, at least on paper, a lot tougher than the one against Denver. The Seahawks will wear the throwbacks in Week 6 on Thursday Night Football against the San Francisco 49ers.
By that time, we should have learned quite a bit about how good Seattle is going to be this season under first-year head coach Mike Macdonald. The Seahawks might even contend for a playoff spot - or possibly the NFC West title - but a team they are almost certainly going to battle with is the 49ers.
One thing is for sure, though. When the Seahawks play the Broncos in Week 1 and the 49ers in Week 6, Seattle will be in better uniforms than the other teams. Maybe a mindset of how one looks can enhance their performance will ring true and Seattle will win both of those games. If that happens, a playoff spot might be a definite possibility this year.
