Matthew Stafford will play against Seattle

Matthew Stafford injured his right thumb (throwing hand) in the Rams' Week 8 loss to the Dallas Cowboys and missed Week 9. Los Angeles had a bye week in Week 10 so Stafford has had two weeks off. According to multiple reports, Stafford will start against Seattle. This makes the Rams a lot more dangerous, obviously.

It isn't that Stafford is among the best quarterbacks in the league anymore. He cannot run with speed and never was one to take off. But he is a dangerous quarterback for the Seahawks because Stafford doesn't get rattled and knows the limits of his ability and knows what to expect of his receivers. A patient quarterback who takes what Seattle's defense gives him can control the time of possession and get enough points to outscore Seattle.

Stafford's numbers are not good in 2023. He has 8 touchdowns and 7 interceptions with a quarterback rating of 82.0. He is completing only 59.7 percent of his passes. And yet, somehow in Week 1 he was 24 of 38 for 334 yards and was not sacked.

There is no reason to think that if the Seahawks defense does not play the entire game as well as they played in the first half against the Commanders that Los Angeles won't steal another game against Seattle. The Rams have a way of doing that against the Seahawks, unfortunately.
