Seattle's dimming playoff hopes

Before Week 13, even while the Seahawks were struggling, they were still holding onto the final playoff spot in the NFC. But after losing to the Cowboys, and watching the Los Angeles Rams and Green Bay Packers win with the Minnesota Vikings having the week off, Seattle falls from seventh place in the conference to basically ninth.

A huge issue is that the Rams have defeated the Seahawks twice and will have the head-to-head tie-breaker should both teams finish with the same record. The Packers are also playing really well right now and just beat the Kansas City Chiefs. The Vikings do have to play the Lions twice and the Packers once the rest of the way, but the Seahawks have the 49ers and Eagles in the next two weeks.

Currently, the Vikings, Rams, Packers, and Seahawks are fighting it out for the last two NFC playoff spots. Likely, whoever doesn't win the NFC East - the Cowboys or Eagles - will take the fifth playoff spot. Of course, things might look even dimmer if Seattle is 6-8 after playing San Francisco and Philadelphia.

But is Seattle really a playoff team anyway at this point? If will they make the postseason only to get blown out in the first game? There is no fun in that.
