Pro Football Focus says the Seahawks should bring back this familiar face

It's the time of the NFL offseason for speculation and anyone can say whatever they want, of course. There's no right or wrong and the speculation is all for fun. Pro Football Focus (subscription required), though, has a weird suggestion for the Seahawks in free agency.
That's right: Free agency. Seattle does have a tiny bit of money left and to be fair, PFF's suggestion isn't a bad one. See, PFF thinks Seattle should spend some of their cap room by chasing someone who will add depth along the offensive line.
That player is offensive tackle George Fant. Fant started his career with the Seahawks and played for Seattle from 2016 through 2018. He came into the league as a tight end but Seattle wanted to remake him into an offensive tackle and he honestly wasn't bad once he learned the positions. He's also capable of playing either left or right guard.

Fant left for the New York Jets in 2020 and started off on the right side before flipping to the left. In 2021 as a left tackle, Fant allowed just 18 pressures and one sack. Those are impressive numbers for a Pro Bowler at left tackle, let alone someone who wasn't even drafted as a tackle.

Fant isn't a great run blocker, but as long as he is depth instead of a starting LT, that's not bad. The Seahawks should be set at tackle for many years after taking Charles Cross and Abraham Lucas in the 2022 draft. Both Cross and Lucas were solid in their rookie seasons and should only get better. Fant would be a perfect swing tackle for either Cross or Lucas.

Fant was injured a bunch in 2022 so he didn't perform as well as in 2021. Still, he will only be 31 years old when the 2023 season starts so he should have a number of seasons left. According to Spotrac, his market value is only $3.3 million annually and Seattle could afford that and that number isn't bad for a quality backup tackle. Heck, I say go for it, Seahawks, but let's just hope Lucas or Cross don't get hurt.
