The Seattle Seahawks will immediately begin their search for a new head coach after mutually parting ways with Pete Carroll and placing him in an advisory role. Dan Quinn is expected to be a highly sought-after coach this offseason, and ESPN's Adam Schefter has said the Seahawks are expected to pursue him during this coaching carousel.

Quinn is currently the defensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys. He was the Seahawks defensive coordinator under Pete Carroll when the Seahawks reached the Super Bowl in 2013 and 2014.

Quinn left the Seahawks following the 2014 season to become the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons. He led the Falcons to a Super Bowl appearance in 2016 and stayed on as the head coach for six seasons until he was relieved of his duties after the 2020 season.

Could Dan Quinn be the next head coach of the Seattle Seahawks?

Since then he has been the defensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys. He was named assistant coach of the year in 2021, for his work improving the Cowboys defense from worst to first in the NFL.

The Seahawks absolutely need to make improvements to their defense after they finished 30th in the league in yards allowed. Dan Quinn could be the solution to the Seahawks' defensive woes and would have lots of young talent to work with. His ability to improve bad defenses has been on full display in Dallas these past three seasons. Given his defensive prowess, Quinn has the desire to be a head coach again in the NFL, and the Seahawks should definitely consider him for the position.

Another important note is Quinn's connection to Pete Carroll as his defensive coordinator for Carroll's two Super Bowl teams. Carroll is going to stay on as an advisor to the Seahawks organization would he recommend Dan Quinn to become the Seahawks' next head coach? No matter what, Quinn will certainly have an inside track to be the Seahawks' next head coach and is going to receive a ton of consideration for the position.
