The Seattle Seahawks and Pittsburgh Steelers are both 8-7 and both fighting to make the postseason. Seattle only needs to win its final two games to clinch a playoff spot. Pittsburgh still needs to keep winning and hope the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans each lose a game.

Seattle barely leads the all-time head-to-head 10-9 in the regular season, but 12s all remember how the officials stole the game from the Seahawks in Super Bowl XL so the Steelers lead the postseason head-to-head 1-0. Since Pete Carroll became the head coach in Seattle, the teams have played four times with each team winning twice.

The last time the teams met was in 2021 and Geno Smith started at quarterback for the Seahawks. Russell Wilson had suffered an injury in the game prior. Smith was 23 of 32 passing for 209 yards and a touchdown. He did lose a fumble late in the game, however. Let's hope he plays just as well without the turnover in Week 17.

NFC West standings entering Week 17

While the NFC West title has been in the hands of the San Francisco 49ers for several weeks now, there is still a battle for second place. Both the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks are 8-7. The Rams hold the tie-break over Seattle, however, as the Rams unfortunately defeated Seattle both times the teams met this season.

Both Seattle and Los Angeles could still make the playoffs, however. The Arizona Cardinals are doomed to last place by a wide margin.

1. San Francisco 49ers (11-4)
2. Los Angeles Rams (8-7)
3. Seattle Seahawks (8-7)
4. Arizona Cardinals (3-12)
