The Seattle Seahawks will need to battle for the 2025 NFC West crown. Unlike 10 years ago, when Seattle ruled the NFC West roost, things are a lot more complicated now. The San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams are good. The Arizona Cardinals also play in the division.
Last season. Seattle split with the Rams and 49ers in their two meetings, and the Cardinals were also a football team. When all was said and done, though, the Rams and Seahawks finished with the same record (10-7), but because LA held all the tie-breakers, the Rams won the division, moved on to the postseason, and Seattle stayed home.
The early part of the season made a huge difference. The Seahawks' defense, specifically, got much better as the season grew old. Earlier in the year, the defense was still adjusting to Mike Macdonald's magic and struggled when they shouldn't have. A Week 5 loss to the bad New York Giants turned out to be crippling.
Rams' rumored early season schedule could help the Seahawks in 2025
Here is the good news: The Rams might have the same problem in the coming season. LA is going to be good because they almost always will under their current head coach Sean McVay. The leaked and rumored and suggested and implied 2025 schedule does them no favors, though. That's good for Seattle.
If an X/Twitter handle called OzzyNFL is correct (how they get their info, who knows?), LA's schedule is brutal until nearly their bye week in Week 9.
The Rams start at home against the good Houston Texans, travel to play the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3, host the 49ers on Thursday Night Football on a short week in Week 5, travel to play the Baltimore Ravens, and then fly to London to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars. The travel alone is tough.
At least, it's tough for the Rams. The Seahawks can sit back and laugh at the issues LA might have. By the time Seattle is rumored to play the Rams in Week 11, LA could be a tired bunch. Maybe the Rams have the better roster, but let the schedule force them out of the competition.
The Seahawks will be happy to take any advantage they can. The NFL has done the Rams no favors in the rumored schedule. In return, they have done one for Seattle.
