Russell Wilson's perfect job might have just fallen into his lap

He can do it.

Russell Wilson is now undoubtedly a failed NFL quarterback. He washed his way out of being with the Seattle Seahawks after he tried to get John Schneider and Pete Carroll fired after the 2021 season, and then he was bad for the Denver Broncos.

Since his two-year stint in Denver, a team that was so ready to get rid of Wilson that it had nearly $100 million in dead cap on him when releasing the quarterback, Wilson has spent a season with the Pittsburgh Steelers and is now with the New York Giants. He was New York's QB1 for three games in 2025 until he was replaced by a rookie.

Unfortunately for the QB, the rookie, Jaxson Dart, has been better than the former Seahawks QB1. The Giants have a real chance to win with Dart. They didn't with Wilson. Likely, neither does any other NFL team.

Former Seattle Seahawks great Russell Wilson might be rehearsing for his post-football life in Week 14

But in Week 14, which is the Giants bye week, Russell Wilson could be staring directly at his post-football career. He will be a guest analyst on CBS' The NFL Today. Would it be slightly odd for the quarterback to be choosing winners or losers for Week 14? Absolutely, since he is a current player.

Instead, maybe he will just offer insights into what teams are doing what and how the matchups will work. In that aspect, Wilson could be fantastic. In fact, he might be so good that he proves he could be a full-time analyst after his career ends, which might be as soon as the 2025 season ends.

As annoying and robotic as Russell Wilson can seem to some, that might also translate to talking head success. He is a smart guy who just happens to be a bit self-serving. Again, that would work perfectly in a studio analyst's job.

As bad of a quarterback as he has been for several years now, he has always been well-spoken while dropping endless cliches. He would probably across to viewers as a guy they trust because his rehearsed lines are believable for a while.

Ultimately, Seattle Seahawks fans might finally have a reason to root for Russell Wilson again. And that is because he won't be playing the sport again.
