The Seattle Seahawks are right where they were last season: through five games, the team is 3-2 and coming off a loss in Week 5. The positive part last season was that the team only lost one more game the rest of the way and took home the Vince Lombardi Trophy after defeating the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.
The rest of the schedule this season isn't quite as easy as the overall second half of last year, though. Seattle cannot afford too many more losses, and the team is already two games behind the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC West.
Week 6 isn't likely to be easy, either. The Seahawks play the Denver Broncos on Thursday Night Football at Empower Field at Mile High. Both teams are banged up, but Seattle is suffering the worse turnover problem. That cannot continue against Denver pr head coach Mike Macdonald's team will return to the Pacific Northwest 3-3.
How to watch the Seattle Seahawks vs. the Denver Broncos in Week 6
You will need an Amazon Prime Video subscription to watch the Thursday game. Of course, you can also stream the game on the Prime Video app. The broadcast team includes Al Michaels on play-by-play, Kirk Herbstreit providing analysis, and Kaylee Hartung reporting from the sideline.
The pre-game team includes former Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman, so that might make watching that part of the broadcast worthwhile. The studio host is Charissa Thompson, and she and Sherman are joined by former players Tony Gonzalez, Ryan Fitzpatrick, and Andrew Whitworth.
If you want to listen to the game, you can tune in to Steve Raible doing play-by-play, Dave Wyman giving analysis, and Jen Mueller reporting from the sideline on Seattle Sports 710 AM, KIRO Newsradio 97.3, the Seahawks Mobile App (locally to Seattle), and SiriusXM channels 83 or 193.
Seahawks vs. Broncos injury updates in Week 6
Overall, the Seahawks are relatively healthy, except at the running back spot. Quarterback Sam Darnold is back after missing almost all of the first two games of the season with a glute injury. He's thrown seven touchdown passes in the last three games, but also five interceptions.
The running game has been the main issue, as Zach Charbonnet hasn't returned from his knee injury in last season's playoffs, and rookie Jadarian Price is on injured reserve with a chest injury. No one should expect Seattle to run the ball well against Denver in Week 6.

Storylines to watch for Seahawks in Week 6
Turnovers. When Seattle plays clean, they have a far better chance of winning, like the did in Weeks 1 and 2 with Drew Lock filling in for Darnold. The Seahawks got a bit spoiled in the past several years with Charbonnet and Kenneth Walker, as neither player fumbled, and this season, seemingly every running back has.
Another storyline to watch is the Broncos' Sean Payton taking over play-calling duties and going up against Mike Macdonald's defense. This will be strength on strength, and if Seattle allows quarterback Bo Nix to dink and dunk his way down the field, the Seahawks could lose a low-scoring game.
What might happen between the Seahawks and the Broncos
Whatever happens, panic should not set in. Macdonald's two Seahawks teams have had a way of being much better in the second half of the season. While they missed the playoffs in 2024, the team at one point was 4-5 and finished 10-7. The Broncos are a good team with a great defense, even if it's a bit banged up.
Darnold just seems a tick slow in making decisions, and the reason why isn't clear. He could still be adjusting to new offensive coordinator Brian Fleury's scheme, but entering his fourth full game of the season, Darnold should be fully acclimated.
The game appears to be one where Seattle will simply not generate enough consistently good offense to win on the road. The Broncos will probably take the game 19-16 with the Seahawks having little success running the ball. The future is still bright, however.
