The Seattle Seahawks finally made a statement in Week 7. Taking down the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs and shutting down their offense may have been the momentum-shifting game they so desperately needed.

Notably, some of the team's impending free agents had plenty to do with Mike Madcdonald's team's success. They made a solid case not only to come back next season but also to get a significant raise in their paychecks.

The Seahawks will have several key guys hitting free agency after the season, and while they won't be able to retain all of them, it's nice to see them do their part and ball out. Let's check in on some of them.

Checking in on some key 2027 Seattle Seahawks free agents ahead of Week 8

George Holani might not be back

Zach Charbonnet just started practicing, and Jadarian Price is eligible to come back from Injured Reserve in Week 8. George Holani had two months to make his case and prove that he could be the team's featured back next season, but he failed.

Now, with Charbonnet making his season debut and also on a contract year, plus Price looking to prove that he's not a bust, opportunities will be scarce for Holani. He's a serviceable backup, but not much more.

Emanuel Wilson is playing like a RB1

On the flip side, Emanuel Wilson has shown that he must have a role in the offense, even when the backfield is back to full strength. He's elusive, tough, and has been the team's most efficient running back this season.

The Seahawks signed him to a one-year deal worth roughly $1.59 million, but he might be getting at least twice that per year in his new deal. Even if the Seahawks keep Charbonnet, they should also bring him back.

Ty Okada helped his case against the Chiefs

Ty Okada can't afford to slip this season. The Seahawks have rookie Bud Clark, and while he will miss his entire rookie campaign, they still have high hopes for him. Safety isn't a premium position, so they may not spend big bucks to keep Okada in town.

That's why making winning plays like that interception on Patrick Mahomes should help him live for another day. He's not a star by any means, but the Seahawks should keep him in town if the price makes sense.

Uchenna Nwosu will get a big raise elsewhere

Speaking of prices, Uchenna Nwosu will probably pass the $20 million-a-year barrier in his next contract. He's playing the best football of his career, and someone will be more than happy to break the bank to get him.

That someone might not be John Schneider, though. The Seahawks are stacked in the pass-rushing department, and while losing DeMarcus Lawrence will sting, they might not want to spend big bucks to retain Nwosu.
