The Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams battled for the title in the 2025 season. Seattle beat LA twice in their three matches, including the important ones in the back half of the season, but 2026 is shaping up to be even more brutal for both teams. The rumble begins soon.

As 12s all know, it was the Seahawks who took home the Super Bowl trophy last season. This was buoyed by defeating the Rams in the NFC Championship game. Beating the New England Patriots in the title game? That was easy compared to playing the Rams. But now, LA has added Myles Garrett.

To hear Seattle left guard Grey Zabel tell it, Los Angeles getting Garrett was a gift. Zabel and his teammates don't want things to be easy against the Rams. Arguably, three of the best ten teams in the NFL reside in the NFC West, and nothing should be easy when Seattle plays the Rams or the San Francisco 49ers.

Grey Zabel delivers the Seattle Seahawks' truth about Rams adding Myles Garrett

Oh, the Arizona Cardinals are the fourth team in the division, but does anyone really count them? Let's be honest: No.

Battles between the Seahawks, Rams, and 49ers only harden each team later in the playoffs. The Patriots made it through the AFC, but once they reached the Super Bowl, the Seahawks might as well have said, "No offense, but we've faced two teams better than you four times already." That would have been the truth, too.

Speaking with former Rams player Chris Long on his podcast, Green Light, the former edge rusher asked the current, and long-term, excellent left guard for the Seahawks about the moves LA made this offseason. Zabel wasn't going to suddenly be nice after he confessed he both loved and hated the Rams as rivals.

Zabel said, "(The Rams') defensive line is wicked good. Got even better this offseason...We're walking out of O-line meetings to lift or run or something, and all I could think about was, 'Awesome. Cleveland Browns just gave us a Christmas present in early June.'"

There was no sarcasm in Grey Zabel's voice, and he expounded later by saying Garrett will prove how good the left guard is, and he was looking forward to the challenge. That is exactly the kind of culture general manager John Schneider and head coach Mike Macdonald have set up. Forget Pete Carroll's "always compete." Things get real with Macdonald.

Is Myles Garrett going to be a great player for the Los Angeles Rams and a chore to deal with for the Seattle Seahawks? Of course, but the NFL should be difficult. That makes the payoff when a team does win a title even better. For Seattle, let's hope that happens again for the 2026 season.
