The Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals both earned victories in the first games of the 2026 season, but that won't be the case in Week 2 when head coach Mike Macdonald's team travels to face head coach Mike LaFleur's team in Glendale, Arizona. One team has to lose (or tie).

Kickoff is scheduled for 1:25 pm PT, and the game will be held at State Farm Stadium. The stadium has played host to many great games, including Super Bowls. Few have involved the Cardinals. They have been fairly awful for many years.

Still, Seattle won't have quarterback Sam Darnold after he injured his glute on the first drive of the first game. How well his backup, Drew Lock, plays will obviously impact the Seahawks' chances of winning their 12th straight game, dating back to last year.

How to watch the Seattle Seahawks vs. Arizona Cardinals in Week 2

Unless you live in the Pacific Northwest or Arizona (and a very small part of California), you will probably be forced to watch the Dallas Cowboys play the Washington Commanders on FOX. Most of California, Nevada, and Utah will see the dreadful Miami Dolphins play the San Francisco 49ers.

If you do live in the PNW or Arizona, FOX will be the place to watch on broadcast. That means FOX 13 in Seattle. You can also stream the game at Seahawks.com and the Seahawks mobile app locally. Of course, if you live outside the area, you should be able to watch on NFL Sunday Ticket, but that means paying for a subscription.

Chris Myers will do play-by-play for the broadcast, and Mark Schlereth will provide analysis. Megan Olivi is expected to be the sideline reporter.

12s can listen to the game on Seattle Sports 710 AM, KIRO Newsradio 97.3, the Seahawks mobile app, and on Sirius XM channels 83 and 382. The excellent Steve Raible will do play-by-play for the Seahawks broadcast and will be joined by Dave Wyman.

Seahawks vs. Cardinals injury updates in Week 2

The Seahawks had ruled two players out already: Sam Darnold and safety Ty Okada. Okada is missing his second straight game with a hamstring injury. He has no timeline for his return, but at least he hasn't been placed on the physically unable to perform list. The same goes for Darnold and his glute.

Anthony Braford was ruled out on Saturday, and Christian Haynes will take his place. Should Haynes succeed, he could eventually take the place of impending free agent Bradford for the long term.

Defensive back Nick Emmanwori (ankle) is questionable and unlikely to play. Emmanwori missed Week 1 too, of course.

The Cardinals had only ruled one player out, cornerback Garrett Williams (Achilles tendon), but had a slew of players listed as questionable. That list includes both starting guards, Isaac Seumalo and Isaiah Adams, starting nose tackle Roy Lopen, and starting cornerback Max Melton, among others.

Storylines to watch for Seahawks in Week 2

Clearly, the main aspect to watch for if you are a Seahawks fan is how well quarterback Drew Lock will do in place of Darnold. If he plays turnover-free, as he did in Week 1, Seattle should have a good chance to take care of business in the desert. Otherwise, the Cardinals could beat Seattle for the first time since 2021.

A storyline for fans of both teams will be who wins the running back battle between Notre Dame teammates Jadarian Price of the Seahawks and Jeremiyah Love of the Cardinals. Whoever produces more might have a direct impact on the outcome.

A concern for Seattle is whether its secondary can hold up well again. In Week 1, Mike Macdonald's defense got a boon from cornerback Nehemiah Pritchett and safety Rodney Thomas. Neither is expected to be a long-term starter, but with Emmanwori likely missing the game and Okada out, the substitutes will need to be good again.

What might happen in Seahawks vs. Cardinals Week 2

Even without Darnold, the Seattle Seahawks have the better overall roster and should win. Still, Lock has been a longtime backup quarterback for a reason: He is inconsistent. He could perform brilliantly, or he could cost his team the game; there is no way of knowing.

That said, Seattle's defense should be good enough to help earn an ugly 20-17 victory. At the end of the season, starting 2-0 instead of 1-1 could be the difference between winning the NFC West and missing the playoffs.
