The Seattle Seahawks are coming off their first loss of the 2026 season, losing a game that most saw as a winnable contest. The Washington Commanders were playing with a backup quarterback and a terrible pass defense. Still, they earned the win.
This makes Week 4 more meaningful for Seattle than it might otherwise be. The Seahawks take on the winless Los Angeles Chargers, a team far more dangerous than its record might imply. Seattle might win on Sunday, but the victory might not come easily.
Kickoff is set for 1:25 pm PT on October 4, and the game will be held at Lumen Field. Will 12s affect the outcome of the game? Maybe. What follows is what we do know, though.

How to watch the Seattle Seahawks vs. the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 4
The Week 4 game will be shown on CBS (KIRO 7 in Seattle) with Andrew Catalon doing the play-by-play, Logan Ryan providing analysis, and AJ Ross reporting from the sidelines. If you stream the game on NFL+, you will get the same broadcast crew, but that is only for Seattle-area fans.
You can also watch in the Seattle area on the Seahawks app and Seahawks.com. If you subscribe to NFL Sunday Ticket, you can watch on television, of course, as well as stream the game on most devices.
If you just want to listen to the game, you can do that on NFL+, but it requires a subscription. Otherwise, you can hear Steve Raible do play-by-play, Dave Wyman provide analysis, and Jen Mueller report from the sidelines on Seattle Sports 710 AM, KIRO Newsradio 97.3, the Seahawks mobile app, and, this week, on SiriusXM channels 83 and 193.
Seahawks vs. Chargers injury updates in Week 4
Seattle likely presumed they would once again be without starting safety Ty Okada. He hasn't played all season with a hamstring or groin injury. The team has no timeline for his return.
Storylines to watch for Seahawks vs. Chargers in Week 4
The storylines are aplenty even if they were only attached to the coaching staffs of both teams. Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh is the father of Jay Harbaugh, who is the Seahawks' special teams coordinator. Jim was also the head coach at Michigan when Seattle head coach Mike Macdonald was the defensive coordinator at the school in 2021.
Other than that, LA has to have a victory. They were picked by many to be a playoff team, but have started 0-3. A fourth straight loss wouldn't end their season, but would make the climb to the postseason a lot steeper.
For Seattle, the question is whether the defense will rebound into normal form. The unit struggled against the Washington Commanders and backup quarterback Marcus Mariota in Week 3. Will it do the same against the Los Angeles Chargers and struggling quarterback Justin Herbert in Week 4?
What might happen between the Seahawks and the Chargers
Both teams need a win because, frankly, each team only has 17 games during an NFL season, and one loss could change the entire scope of the season.
In 2024, for instance, the Seahawks lost to the New York Giants, a poor team that shouldn't have beaten Seattle, and Mike Macdonald's team finished 10-7, tied with the Los Angeles Rams atop the NFC West, but LA had the tie-breaker and went to the postseason while Seattle's players and coaches had to watch the playoffs from home.
The Seahawks have already lost to the Commanders when they shouldn't have and can't afford to lose to the 0-3 Chargers, too. Meanwhile, LA just needs to get their first victory.
Likely, the game will be a low-scoring and stressful affair, with Seattle not getting many yards on offense and hoping its defense can shut down Los Angeles. The hope is that kicker Jason Myers wins the game with a late field goal.
