The San Francisco 49ers have struggled with injuries all season so far, but that has not kept them from being 5-4 with one of those victories being against the Seattle Seahawks. Even without running back Christian McCaffrey in Week 6, the 49ers offense had little issue scoring against Seattle. McCaffrey is back with the team, but San Francisco could be without tight end George Kittle.
This would be some positive news for the Seahawks as Kittle has been, as he often is against nearly every team, a complete menace. He doesn't always produce a lot of yards receiving, but he does something far more sinister in the eyes of 12s: Kittle scores touchdowns. In Week 6's 36-24 for the 49ers over Seattle, the tight end had 58 yards receiving but two touchdowns.
Oddly, the first eight times Kittle played against Seattle, he did not score at all. But the last five times, he has caught seven touchdown passes, including scoring two in three different games. Kittle has also averaged at least 20.1 yards per catch in three of those games as well.
San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle unlikely to play against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 11
The tight end has been dealing with a hamstring injury, though. Kittle was listed as questionable on the 49ers' Friday injury report, but according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Kittle is "unlikely" to play on Sunday. The tight end will still be a game-time decision, but the team is not optimistic he will be healthy enough to play.
There is also a chance that San Francisco's excellent left tackle, Trent Williams, will not be able to play either. He suffered an ankle injury and was not able to practice on Friday. He will also be a pre-game decision. San Francisco believes there is a chance Williams can go, but maybe, for Seahawks fans, he will have to sit Week 11 out.
Seattle has some better news as far as injuries. Wide receiver DK Metcalf is expected to play after missing the last two games with an MCL sprain. Right tackle Abraham Lucas, who has missed the entire season so far, is also expected to play. Right tackle has been a problem all year, so, hopefully, Lucas's presence can greatly improve the offensive line. Seattle will be without center Connor Williams, however, as he retired due to personal reasons last week.
