With a couple of weeks before Week 1, things are getting real. The Seattle Seahawks are ready to officially kick off a new era with a few big-name players who weren't here a year ago.
On that same note, there is still time for the Seahawks to make another move before Week 1 kicks off. One of the biggest topics at hand, around the NFL lately, is that of Dallas Cowboys pass rusher Micah Parsons, and ESPN's Adam Schefter recently provided an eye-opening update on the situation courtesy of Unsportsmanlike on ESPN Radio:
"I don't believe that deal is getting done right now ... My own opinion is that, as it currently stands today, unless there is a change, that Micah's time in Dallas is going to be limited. It won't be a full career."
Just in case that wasn't clear enough, Schefter reiterated his point just moments later on the show.
"Today, I feel comfortable saying I don't think he'll finish his career in Dallas," he affirmed.
The door looks to be open for the Seahawks to wind up with Micah Parsons
This entire segment with Schefter was almost too crazy to believe. What's happening in Dallas, with Parsons, looks like malpractice on Jerry Jones' part. But, an enormous mistake by Dallas could lead to Parsons either getting traded or landing elsewhere after the season.
To picture Parsons on this Mike Macdonald defense, too, seems like a total dream. It really does. To think of Parsons anywhere but Dallas seems ludicrous, but that's exactly what Schefter thinks as of today. He won't be in Dallas much longer, with the way things have gone.
Schefter flat-out talked about Dallas entertaining a trade, too.
"I think you have to wonder if Dallas is going to entertain a trade," he added.
For full context on the situation, Schefter let us know that there haven't been any talks between Parsons and the Cowboys in months ... read that again -- months. That's truly remarkable for as much as the NFL world has been talking about it over the summer.
"There have been no negotiations since late-March, early-April... zero," Schefter said.
So, is the door cracked open for a Parsons trade? Absolutely.
Should the Seahawks jump to the front of the line and start monitoring a little closer? You bet they should.
