The Seattle Seahawks ruled the NFC West this past season on their way to a Super Bowl victory. The worry about next season is that Seattle will digress while the rest of the division will get better, but that might not include the Arizona Cardinals. At least, according to a recent tweet from NFL insider Adam Schefter.
On Thursday, Schefter created an X post listing the free agent signings for Arizona, and the list might be six of the most underwhelming players grouped in one tweet. Perhaps only running back Tyler Allgeier will be extremely impactful.
The others? That includes long snapper Casey Kreiter, quarterback Gardner Minshew, offensive linemen Matt Pryor and Elijah Wilkinson, and defensive lineman Jonah Williams. Of note, of course, is that the Cardinals released quarterback Kyler Murray this offseason.
Seattle Seahawks can likely count on winning two games against the Arizona Cardinals in 2026
For many years now, the Cardinals haven't been able to get out of their own way. While those three fans that Arizona seems to have have watched the San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Rams, and Seahawks all reach the Super Bowl, Arizona has struggled to even get close to the playoffs.
Many thought that 2025 could be a good season for Arizona, but just like every other season, that didn't happen. Since 2021, the Cardinals have had three seasons where they didn't win more than four games, and on the other had a losing record. They have changed coaches twice.
One reason for their awfulness is that they keep signing a bunch of players like the six on Adam Schefter's list. None of those are game-changers, even though Arizona has a good amount of cap room. Maybe no one really wants to play for such a snake-bit franchise. The team's culture is difficult to change because its ownership group isn't good.
Maybe the future will be different. Arizona hired Mike LaFleur to be its new head coach, and he comes from a successful coaching family and has worked with brilliant head coaches Kyle Shanahan of the 49ers and Sean McVay of the Rams. LaFleur should have the knowledge of how to win in the NFL.

The problem for him is that his team might not give him the players he needs to succeed. The Cardinals quarterback situation, for instance, looks to be Jacoby Brissett and Minshew in 2026. That isn't exactly scary.
As for Seattle Seahawks fans, they can count on the same thing next year as in previous years: The Rams and 49ers will be difficult to defeat. Meanwhile, two wins over the Arizona Cardinals should be a given.
