Kay Adams knows her stuff. While many in the national media likely have forgotten about Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tory Horton, Adams hasn't.
As part of a tweet on Monday, Adams wrote, "(Seattle) just won the Super Bowl with that same WR situation (of Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Cooper Kupp, and Rashid Shaheed) minus the great Tory Horton, who is only going to make their WR room that much better when back."
Kay Adams paid real attention to Seattle in 2025. As 12s know, the then-rookie wide receiver was trending toward an elite season in terms of touchdown production. In eight games, he had five receiving TDs and also had a 95-yard punt return for a score. Six touchdowns in eight games is fantastic.
Kay Adams drops rightful praise on Seattle Seahawks' Tory Horton
The wideout showed the kind of explosiveness that the Seahawks hoped he would have when the team chose Horton in the fifth round of the 2025 draft. He likely would have gone higher except for a knee injury in his final year of college. Of course, that last part is more concerning after what happened in 2025.
The receiver suffered some kind of shin issue that forced him to miss the second half of the season and will keep him out until training camp, at the earliest. That seems quite odd for a "shin" injury.
The question about the player coming out of college, one that hurt his draft stock, was whether he could stay healthy. He hasn't proven that yet. Based on his half-season production as a rookie before getting hurt, if he can stay healthy, he could be extremely effective.
Adding him to a long-term wide receiver group that includes JSN and Shaheed (Kupp will turn 33 years old before next season and won't be with the team for many more years) keeps the Seahawks with a wideout group that is a real problem for opposing defensive backs. If Tory Horton can be available for most games, Seattle is going to be able to put a lot of speed on the field.
The somewhat surprising part is that most national pundits seem to have forgotten about Horton's season. Kay Adams, to her credit, hasn't, and she is also likely correct. Let's hope she is anyway. Horton could turn out to be the Seattle Seahawks' latest fifth-round gem.
Because of Smith-Njigba, Horton also isn't going to see a lot of attention paid to him. That's good for the player and the team, and should help lead to a lot of Seattle victories in the future.
