Seahawks' favorable primetime schedule reveals the magic of John Schneider

The Seattle Seahawks have had seasons where they weren't seen as being that popular nationally. A couple of primetime games might have been viewed as a success by most teams, but general manager John Schneider doesn't oversee most teams. He oversees relatively sustained success in Seattle.

After winning the Super Bowl last season, and returning 20 of 22 starters, half of which have been added by Schneider in the last two seasons alone (the years after Pete Carroll was removed from his duties with the team), Seattle is a glamor team heading into 2026. The Seahawks will be featured on seven primetime games (due to a somewhat early Saturday game in Week 15).

Most of which would not have happened had Schneider not been running the team. He is the only general manager in the history of the NFL to have won two titles with a completely different coaching staff and roster for each. Schneider is the throughline.

Seattle Seahawks fans can happily blame John Schneider for staying up late in 2026

So when Seattle Seahawks everywhere think about complaining about staying up late in many weeks next season, it is John Schneider we have to thank. But the tiredness the next day will mostly be a happy feeling because the GM would have once again put together a great roster capable of winning the Super Bowl.

In other words, while the lateness of the weeks will feel a bit different next season, it will be because the team earned it. John Schneider is the biggest reason for that.
