Seahawks losing Klint Kubiak to the Raiders could truly hurt the Packers

While the Las Vegas Raiders cannot officially name Klint Kubiak as their next head coach, various reports say the Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinators will replace Pete Carroll in Vegas. Great for Kubiak, but not great for Seattle. They would need to move quickly to replace the OC.

The issue for Seattle is multi-fold. Obviously, Kubiak has done a fantastic job having full control of the Seahawks offense in 2025. The team set a franchise record for points in a season. The offensive coordinator was a perfect fit with head coach Mike Macdonald, as Macdonald wanted an OC who was committed to the run.

Kubiak certainly stuck with the run, even at times when some fans didn't think he should. He was in total command of his system, and his scheme was excellent.

Seattle Seahawks could replace Klint Kubiak with the Green Bay Packers' Adam Stenavich

The Raiders will get a good coach, and the Seahawks will be losing one. One of his more obvious replacements might be working for the Green Bay Packers. That is Green Bay offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich.

Stenavich has a lot of say in what happens with the Packers' offense, of course, but he doesn't call the plays. Head coach Matt LaFleur does. That means that Stenavich could go to a team with expanded responsibilities, a caveat for a coach making a lateral move in the NFL. Otherwise, the Packers have no reason to let Stenavich leave.

Macdonald and general manager John Schneider also interviewed the Packers' OC last year when going through the motions of eventually hiring Kubiak. Clearly, there was interest then, and there will be interest now. And a move needs to be made fast.

Because, thankfully, the Seattle Seahawks are in the Super Bowl, the team will be late in the hiring process, as they couldn't have known for sure that they would need to hire a new coach. Many other teams have snapped up new offensive coordinators, so the quality of the hiring pool is a lot shallower.

Adam Stenavich has been the offensive coordinator with the Packers for four seasons. The offense has been unafraid to run the ball, a requirement under Mike Macdonald in Seattle, as Green Bay ranked fifth and seventh, respectively, in rushing attempts in each of the past two years.

While the offense was 30th and 27th, respectively, in passing attempts, the offense overall ranked in the top 10 of total yards, and never ranked lower than 13th in points scored.

Maybe Adam Stenavich doesn't want to leave Green Bay. Besides being a part of the team for four years, he is also a Wisconsin native. He might simply stay because he wants to stay home. But he deserves a chance to be a play-caller and have his own offense, and it wouldn't be unexpected for the Seattle Seahawks to offer him the offensive coordinator job to replace Klint Kubiak.
