Seahawks' missing piece is quietly available for the taking in free agency

He'd be an underrated pickup.

The Seattle Seahawks were clearly the best team in the league in 2025, and it wasn't particularly close. However, even the best things can be improved, and Mike Macdonald's team isn't the exception to that rule.

Picking up flaws on this roster would be kind of nitpicking, but if there's one glaring issue to address, it might be the interior of the offensive line. Center Jalen Sundell was a mixed bag, and the Seahawks could find him a suitable replacement in free agency. Then again, he's not the only one who could use an upgrade.

Despite some speculation, the Seahawks didn't trade for an Anthony Bradford replacement. Even so, he's going to be a free agent, and with Wyatt Teller letting the Cleveland Browns know that he's going to find a new team, General manager John Schneider should have his agent on speed dial by now.

The Seattle Seahawks should make a run at Wyatt Teller

Teller is coming off a down year, but he was one of the best run-blockers in the game not so long ago. Even in a subpar year by his standards, his Pro Football Focus (subscription required) run-block grade (65.7) was significantly better than what Bradford gave this team (54.7).

He's a two-time All-Pro honoree, a three-time Pro Bowler, and was PFF's highest-ranked run-blocking guard in 2020. Even at 31, he was a true workhorse, logging 765 snaps and only giving up 24 pressures.

The Seahawks addressed their offensive line issues by taking LG Grey Zabel in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. They only have four picks in this year's draft, so it's hard to believe they'll take that same approach this time around.

They can probably target a right guard at some point in Day 2 or test their luck with an undrafted rookie. By signing Teller, they'd have the prefect proven veteran to be their bridge guy and be a mentor to whoever they get.

According to Spotrac, the veteran right guard has a projected annual average value of $10.2 million. The Seahawks have $61.8 million in available cap space, according to Over The Cap, so they can meet his financial demands with ease.

More than that, Teller will probably love the opportunity to play meaningful football games for a chance. He became a fan favorite in Cleveland, but after so many years of shortcomings, it's time to play for a Super Bowl contender.
