An angry huff emoji and two tornadoes. That is how Seattle Seahawks cornerback Devon Witherspoon reacted to Seattle trading up and drafting South Carolina safety Nick Emmanwori. The Seahawks made some seriously splashy draft picks this weekend, a nice shift from the usually passive front office.
With all the noteworthy selections, social media was certainly buzzing in Seattle this weekend.
Seattle opened Thursday night's NFL Draft by staying put at their native 18th selection and drafting the most significant need on the entire roster. Guard Grey Zabel from North Dakota State, widely considered one of the best interior linemen in the whole class, was the pick.

Then, early Friday night, Seattle made the move to trade up to the top of the second round to select the athletic freak, Nick Emmanwori. However, Seattle wasn't done raising eyebrows on Friday night.
Seattle did the unthinkable and drafted a quarterback. They used the 92nd pick, the one that the Las Vegas Raiders traded to Seattle for QB Geno Smith. They took the exciting Alabama product Jalen Milroe, giving Seahawks fans hope for an enjoyable future at the quarterback position. Social media was on fire, including from specific Seahawks themselves.
Julian Love: "John Cooking"
About five minutes after Seattle drafted QB Jalen Milroe, Seahawks safety Julian Love took to social media to voice his excitement with the Seattle draft class. With a double eyeball emoji, Julian Love aptly claimed general manager John Schneider was "cooking" with this draft class.

This also comes after Seattle traded up for Emmanwori, who will likely be starting next to Love at the other safety position. On Saturday, Love also tweeted three shamrock emojis after Seattle selected defensive tackle Rylie Mills from Notre Dame. Love, a Notre Dame alum himself, clearly liked this pick too.
Byron Murphy II: "LFG"
Seahawks defensive tackle Byron Murphy II also took to social media to voice his approval of the draft picks. Murphy posted a photo of Emmanwori on his Instagram story with the caption, "LFG". The Seahawks defense appears to love the pick, as Emmanwori is set to add another element of physicality, ball-hawking, and playmaking to an already great defensive unit.
LET’S GET TO IT! Congrats @Eman7Nick Time to spin🌪️

Julian Love, who was very active on social media, reacted to the Emmanwori pick with "LET'S GET TO IT!" Even Emmanwori himself edited his profile picture on X to the famous "Legion of Boom" picture of the Seahawks' secondary from back in 2013.
Cooper Kupp: "Welcome to the flock, rooks!"
New wide receiver Cooper Kupp extended his welcome to his new rookie teammates in an X post on Saturday night. Kupp penned, "Welcome to the flock, rooks. Let's get to work!" Kupp, a first-year Seahawk, but a veteran in the league, appears to be taking on a leadership role on a young and inexperienced offense.

The 31-year-old Kupp is set to become the veteran leader in a wide receiver room that features predominantly young talent, such as Jaxon Smith-Njigba and rookie receiver Tory Horton, who was just drafted on Saturday out of Colorado State.
Already a fan favorite, as a Washington native, Kupp took to social media to welcome his new young teammates to the league and to send a clear message: "Let's get to work!"
