4 Seahawks players whose stock is plummeting after Week 3 loss

Falling, falling...

The Seattle Seahawks came out flat in Week 3 and were never able to completely recover. There were nearly as many reasons for the loss as there are halibut at Pike Place. The players below were the standouts who may be losing their place in the lineup.

Spoiler alert: I didn't include safety AJ Finley in this group. Now I know a lot of 12s are thinking, "Uh, what? Finley was terrible!" As I see it, for his stock to plummet, there had to be confidence in him to begin with. I'm not dogging the guy, but there's a reason he's had trouble cracking the lineup, even as a rotational player.

A brief disclaimer: I wouldn't be surprised to see all of these players bounce back in the coming week when they take on the Chargers. This isn't a pronouncement of imminent doom by any means. That being said, these guys need to get it together, and soon.

These Seattle Seahawks are taking the escalator down

Jadarian Price

This is the one player that I expect will come back strong this season. The other players (with one exception) are all veterans. It's also hard to forecast a player's future on the basis of five plays. Except that he did fumble again. Ball security was a question mark in his senior year at Notre Dame, too (three fumbles on just 119 plays). Clearly, he needs to correct this.

The generic right guard situation

Yes, I cheated again. But neither Christian Haynes nor Beau Stephens stood out in this game. Neither was charged with a pressure allowed, but the Seahawks' running game was a stroll at best. Yes, Anthony Bradford is a road grader, but he's also a sieve in the passing game and a penalty machine. Haynes failed to take another step forward. Can we get a J.R. Sweezy or a D.J. Fluker in here, please?

Josh Jobe

Now in his fourth year in Seattle, Jobe has been a steady presence in the defensive backfield. Please note the past tense. He started the season with a spectacular game-saving interception against the Patriots. But he was quite ordinary in Week 2 versus the Cardinals. The less said about his awful game against the Patriots - let's just say his agent won't be playing that tape at contract time.

Rashid Shaheed

Shaheed got off to a slow start this season, but we heard that was mainly because he didn't have quite the rapport with backup QBb Drew Lock as he did with Sam Darnold. Well, Darnold got the start and connected on 31 passes for 379 yards. And Shaheed hauled in just two of those for 14 yards. Yeah, I know about the catch on the penalty, except that he bobbled it as he was driven out of bounds.

He rarely drops passes, but he did against the Cardinals. And of course, there was his fumble on the kickoff return. Speaking of returns, I know we're just three weeks into the season, but his average kick return has dropped by almost three yards. His punt returns dropped from 16.2 last year to 9.6 yards now. I think it's time to get Tory Horton a lot more looks on offense and special teams.

Again, I wouldn't be surprised to see any of these players turn their games around in Week 4. But there's no disputing that they all need to play their best, or the Seahawks could be in for another difficult week.
