It's hard to critique the Seattle Seahawks following their dominant run to winning Super Bowl LX. However, they're officially the team to beat, and the rest of the NFL is coming for them.

Defending a title is somehow even harder than climbing the highest mountain in the first place, which the Seahawks will learn one way or another. They must attack this offseason with urgency and purpose to address potential weaknesses, like their secondary.

Seattle will have ample opportunities to add talent on the back end of their ferocious defense, though perhaps none greater than the upcoming NFL Draft. They can't squander this prime chance, starting with the Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, where 319 prospects were invited, namely Clemson standout cornerback Avieon Terrell.

Terrell, the younger brother of Atlanta Falcons star cornerback A.J. Terrell, is flying under the radar in scouting circles. Be that as it may, he's a name the Seahawks should monitor closely in Indy.

Seahawks would be wise to keep tabs on Clemson standout CB Avieon Terrell at the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine

A great athlete and fluid mover who can line up on the inside or outside, Terrell's skill set aligns well with the Seahawks' fly-to-the-ball approach. What he lacks in size to thrive on the boundary (5-foot-10, 180 pounds) is counteracted by a competitive toughness that's hard to match.

His versatility would give Seattle another dynamic secondary piece alongside Devon Witherspoon, Julian Love, and Nick Emmanwori, who are all under contract for 2026.

Nevertheless, the Seahawks are notably at risk of losing other members of their vaunted defensive backfield to free agency this offseason. Veteran safety Coby Bryant and cornerbacks Josh Jobe and Riq Woolen are slated to hit the open market. They all figure to garner interest from rival clubs, which only adds to the appeal of Terrell for Seattle.

As a junior in 2025, Terrell amassed 48 tackles (4.5 for loss), nine pass deflections, three sacks, and an ACC-leading five forced fumbles (one recovery). His 83.5 overall Pro Football Focus grade (subscription required) was 37th of 891 qualified corners in the nation. He was particularly effective as a pass-rusher, ranking third at the position in this department.

For what it's worth, Terrell may not be on the board when the Seahawks are on the clock at pick No. 32. He's projected to get taken by the Pittsburgh Steelers with the 21st overall selection in FanSided's most recent three-round mock draft.
