The Seattle Seahawks set several franchise records last season, but three stood out the most: most regular-season wins (14) and most total wins in a season (17). However, perhaps the third and most impressive franchise record set last year was their road record.Â
The Seahawks went 8-1 away from Lumen Field last season. Their most impressive wins came at home, but going almost perfect on the road is something else. With the schedules now out, the Seahawks know their opponents next season, and by the looks of it, there's a handful of tough opponents listed.
Outside of their division rival games, the Seahawks will face the Washington Commanders, Denver Broncos, Las Vegas Raiders, Philadelphia Eagles, and the Carolina Panthers on the road, and only three of those teams were in the playoffs last year. Looking ahead, those three playoff teams are among the Seahawks' toughest road opponents next season.
The Seattle Seahawks have a slew of tough road games
Denver Broncos
When the Seahawks go on the road to meet the Broncos in Week 6, it might end up being a game of the year candidate. Two elite defenses trying to one-up each other should get the fans rattling in the stands, but it also has the potential to be an offensive-leaning scoring bout as well.Â
The matchup will also feature two top head coaches scheming against one another in Mike Macdonald and Sean Payton. Unless the Seahawks are upset by the New England Patriots or the San Francisco 49ers take their first meeting of the year in the weeks before, the Seahawks could be in danger of dropping their first game of the season against the Broncos.Â
Carolina Panthers
Welcome, possible sleeper team. The Panthers could surprise next season, more than they did last season, by winning their division and squeaking into the playoffs. It all depends on how Bryce Young follows up last season. Will he have improved or regressed?Â
Last season, the Seahawks got the better of the Panthers late in the season, but Carolina's defense managed to shut down Seattle's offense in the first half. If the Panthers are much improved next season, it could be a matchup to watch, especially given that the stakes are higher in the final weeks of the regular season.Â
Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles are one of the more interesting teams heading into next season, even right now in the offseason, given the uncertainty around A.J. Brown. That said, with or without Brown next season, the Eagles are one team to never count out, funk or no funk, and a Week 15 matchup in Philadelphia could be one of Seattle's toughest.
By the time the Seahawks face the Eagles, both teams could be 11-2 or 12-1; both are fully capable of starting the season hot before dropping their first or second games late in the season.
While not exactly evenly matched, both the Seahawks and Eagles have exceptional rosters, and it should be fun watching them go toe-to-toe. If the Seahawks have a few losses next season, though, against the Eagles might be one of them.Â
