The Minnesota Vikings fired general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah earlier this offseason, as he had struggled through a fairly brutal quarterback situation, among other things. That didn't seem to be bad news for the Seattle Seahawks at the time, but now it may be.
That's because the Vikings have requested a second interview with Seattle's assistant general manager, Nolan Teasley. He interviewed with the Vikings earlier in May, and his leaving for the NFC North would be a good move for him, and one he deserves.
For the Seahawks, high-end success breeds change. Everyone in the NFL respects what general manager John Schneider has done. He is the only GM in NFL history to win Super Bowls with a completely different roster and a completely different coaching staff.

In fact, he has raised the level of what the Seahawks are capable of since Pete Carroll was relieved of his duties after the 2023 season. Before he was let go, Carroll was also Vice President of Football Operations, and he had final say over the roster moves. Imagine where the team would have been in recent years had the elite Schneider been making those decisions.
Nolan Teasley was clearly a part of the decision-making that has happened with the Seahawks, and other teams want a piece of that excellence. The assistant general manager has been with Seattle since 2013, and, importantly, worked as a scout and eventually became the director of pro personnel.
In other words, he has worked in and has overseen some of the most important departments of the organization and would be able to transpose that knowledge to a new team, likely easily. Joining the Vikings would be a solid move because the team already has a solid roster and a good coaching staff. Teasley could get them into title contention quickly.
Should he leave, the Seattle Seahawks would not go empty-handed. Schneider's team would receive two third-round compensation picks. If those were awarded for 2027, the Seahawks would have a projected 13 selections overall, including the projected comp picks the team will get for losing free agents such as running back Kenneth Walker and edge rusher Boye Mafe.
Of course, the franchise would be outwardly happy for Nolan Teasley because he would be stepping up in the NFL, and he should do so eventually anyway. However, keeping the band together that won a Super Bowl last season would be awfully nice, too.
