Weather report for Seahawks vs Cardinals is best-case scenario for Seattle
By Lee Vowell
If one has ever visited the Phoenix area in Arizona, they will notice a few things in relation to what life is like in Seattle, Washington. First, it's really flat in greater Phoenix, though there are mountains on the horizon. Seattle is full of hills. Phoenix is also really dry, and Seattle is not. The good thing is that the Seattle Seahawks are fairly used to playing in the rain.
The hope is that the Cardinals won't be as efficient in wet conditions. Arizona has a somewhat limited offense, though quarterback Kyler Murray is having a good year. The Cardinals are 27th in passing yards this season, but Murray is second in Total QBR. A big reason for that is he is able to use his legs running the ball and avoiding pressure. If Murray played for Seattle, he would be second on the team in rushing yards with 371.
To defeat the NFC West-leading 6-4 Cardinals, Seattle's defense is going to have to play disciplined football and not let Murray run crazy. He is also extremely accurate with his passes, but if he is limited to being a drop-back passer, that is going to help the Seahawks. The weather might help Seattle as well.
Week 12 weather report for Seahawks vs Cardinals is beneficial for Seattle
The day should be a classic Seattle winter day in late autumn. The temperatures won't be too cold, though it might feel cooler because it is likely to rain. According to NFL Weather, there is a 70 percent chance of precipitation throughout the game. This could cause a slippery field and a slippery football. Sure, that could work against quarterback Geno Smith and the Seahawks, but, again, Seattle is more used to playing when there is rain falling.
Wind should not be an issue with gusts no more than 10 miles per hour with temperatures holding in the upper 40s. The Cardinals don't play in the cool and the rain, so maybe the weather will help Seattle get a victory, improve to 6-5, and be tied for first place in the division.
The weather certainly will not be worse than it was on Thursday Night Football in Week 12 when the Pittsburgh Steelers lost to the Browns in Cleveland in a snow storm. The snow did help the hometown team spring an upset, though. Maybe the weather in Seattle on Sunday will also help the hometown team.
