With the first roster cuts looming later this week, the Seahawks made a pair of roster moves today.

placed on injury waivers – CB Donny Lisowski signed

Davis has been a standout in camp so far, but injured his hip in Saturday’s game. This move exposes him to to a waiver claim by another team, but if no one claims him then he will be placed on the injured/reserve list with the Seahawks. Lisowski was with the  team earlier in camp, and was released when the team brought in Terrell Owens.

LB Barrett Ruud Traded to Saints for undisclosed draft pick

With Vilma suspended, and his replacement, former SeahawkDavid Hawthorne now hurt, the Saints were desperate for a MLB with some experience. Ruud fits that description, but likely wont make Saint’s fans happy. Injuries appear to have robbed Ruud of a good deal of his athleticism, and he was unlikely to have make the Seahawks 53 man roster.

The pick is expected to be a 7th round pick, with a possible escalator to a 6th with playing time, but that is just speculation at this point.
