Seattle Seahawks Add 17 Undrafted Free Agents

The Seattle Seahawks added 11 players during the NFL Draft. They then added 17 more players in a 3 hours immediately following the draft.

Here’s the list. I’d missed a couple originally, so a massive thanks to for have by far the best UDFA tracker on the web.

  1. Jordan Roussos, OT, Bowling Green

  2. Matt Austin, WR Utah State
  3. Craig Wilkins, LB, Old Dominion
  4. Ramon Buchanan, OLB, Miami
  5. Kenneth Boatright, DE, Southern Illinois
  6. Arceto Clark, WR Mississippi State
  7. Jajuan Harley, SS Tennessee State
  8. O’Hara Fluellen, CB Lincoln
  9. Ray Polk, S, Colorado
  10. Austin Coleman, WR, St. Francis
  11. Akeem Davis, LB/SS, Memphis
  12. Chancey Aghayere, DE LSU
  13. Chris Billingslea, DE Citadel
  14. Austin Coleman, WR St Francis
  15. Jake Bscherer, OT Minnesota-Duluth
  16. Alvin Bailey, OL, Arkansas
  17. John Lotulelei, LB, UNLV

Most of these names on this list mean nothing to me. I don’t have the time to scout 800+ players like some people do. If I get to to 300 it’s a good year. All these small school players are way off my radar.

The names on the list that interest me the most are Ray Polk and Alvin Bailey. Polk looks like be belongs at safety with the Seahawks. He’s also known for massive hits. You’ve got to love that.

Bailey is a guy who was strongly on my radar. I had him with a 5th round grade, and started expecting his name with every time the Seahawks picked from the 6th round on. Bailey is made to be a zone blocking, road grading mauler. He’s not much of a pass blocker, but then again, neither are most of the offensive linemen on the Seahawks roster.

lotulelei and davis will make the team have watched a quite a bit of footage on both of them and they could be undrafted steals

    • All Coug’d Up

I feel like Lotulelei will definitely make the team and 7th round pick Ty Powell will be bumped off because of it. and Alvin Bailey has a great chance as well but he’ll have to bump at least one of the late drafted linemen to do it. And then I feel it will be between Polk and Davis for the backup safety spot. There’s not a spot for Davis at OLB imo.

Breno G is really going to have to bring it in camp because if these young guns come close to him athletically it might be the perfect opportunity to move Sweezy in and groom one or two for that Guard spot.

Lotulelei is a absolute BEAST he has GREAT instincts good speed even when he reads a play wrong he still makes it up with his speed and he has INSANE football strength he routinely ROUTINELY knocks over big lineman sheds double team blocks and is overall just VERY GOOD at avoiding blocks and making plays he is a very very good side to side linebacker he makes plays EVERYWHERE on the line of scrimmage 50 yards up the field 10 yards in the backfield it doesnt matter he is a TENACIOUS football player that puts everything he has into every hit the only way I can describe him is he is what manti teo WISHES he could be this guy is INCREDIBLY underrated he had the stats and pro day numbers how he went undrafted is beyond me

I have to admit, you have me excited to watch film on these guys. Starting to get pumped up for rookie mini-camp too.

dont get your hopes up for polk the dude is injury prone VERY injury prone and inconsistent to boot

    • 12thMan_Rising

You’re right about that. Its why he went undrafted.

  • kikiri

forgot to mention how underrated his coverage skills are the dude just isnt fooled no matter what play it is a member he is from the WAC they run a lot of funky offenses pistol formations and read options

What are the roster restrictions at this point in the offseason? I know that not including the UDFAs our roster is at 81 players including our 11 draft picks. Adding the these 17 UDFAs puts us at 98 total players. When does the roster limit of 90 come into affect?

    • 12thMan_Rising

The draft picks don’t count toward the roster (90 man limit right now) until they sign a contract. When they sign, players will be let go to make room. probably wont happen until after the rookie mini-camp so the team can get a look at all 17 of these guys for a couple days before deciding.

This is the best part of the draft. Guys that are under the radar getting a chance to fulfill their NFL dream. Hope all these guys start out @ 100%. Personally I’m still worried about the run defense and O-line, but how can you go against PC/JS? Funniest analysis of this year’s draft came from a guy from S.I. or Sporting News who said he gave last year’s draft an F. That only produced Irvin, Wagner, and Wilson. This year he gave them an A. He believes in PC/JS until proven otherwise. Me too.

ohara luellen from Lincoln should get a chance to play for Hawks
