Seahawks vs Browns: Kam Chancellor headlines inactive lists

The Seattle Seahawks will take on the Cleveland Browns without their All-Pro strong safety.

We’re about 90 minutes away from kickoff between the Seattle Seahawks and the Cleveland Browns. That means it is time for the inactive lists to be released by both teams.

Keep in mind that NFL rosters have 53 players, but teams are only allowed to dress 46 each week. That means that seven players must be declared inactive prior to the game.

Seahawks inactives

There aren’t a lot of surprised here. Injuries have forced Seattle’s hand when it comes to their active roster.

Kam Chancellor won’t play. He was listed as questionable, but there was never any indication that he’d be ready. Kelcie McCray will start in his place.

Marshawn Lynch is still a couple of weeks away from a possible return. The team will try and make due with Christine Michael and Bryce Brown while they wait.

Jordan Hill is still out. The team believes he can be back for the playoffs, but if he doesn’t start making some progress it is possible that he’ll land on IR soon.

The Seahawks have 4 TEs on the roster, but only have two active. McCoy is hurt, and Coffman is a healthy scratch. The team continues to have no idea what to do at the position with Jimmy Graham hurt.

Browns inactives

The big name on here is Justin Gilbert. Cleveland’s secondary is already undermanned, and not having Gilbert out there could be costly.
