4. The defense greatly missed Bobby Wagner

The Seahawks could not defend TEs. They struggled to stop the run. The were unable to regularly get off the field on third and long. These are all areas where MLB Bobby Wagner would have helped.

Kevin Pierre-Lewis is a liability in coverage. Mike Morgan isn’t any better. With Bruce Irvin needed as a pass rusher, the Seahawks lacked other options.

So Cam Newton was able to find his TEs for big gains over and over again. Johnathon Stewart gashed the Seahawks up the middle with big runs. It wasn’t pretty.

The Seahawks need Wagner back in there. Without him, this defense just isn’t good enough.
